User Rights

Since version 1.6, PrimusNote supports different levels of User Rights. There are two different sets of user roles:

  • WordPress based user roles
  • PrimusNote unique user roles

If you create a user, you will see the following set of roles:

The difference between the (PrimusNote)-prefixed roles and the other roles is simple: The WordPress user roles (editor, contributor, author) come with a given set of permissions in the WordPress admin area. If you are running a blog and are using PrimusNote behind the scenes, you might not want all your Project Members to have access to your day to day blog operations.

Scroll down if you want to get an overview of all the permissions PrimusNote has and how they are distributed over the various user roles.

Changing Permissions

If you want to change the permissions of a whole role or for a given user specifically, you can do that with the help of third party plugins, such as WP User Role Editor. With some plugins, you can even add completely new roles, giving you a new level of flexibility.
Please note that we are not responsible for third party plugins and can not give support for them.

Overview WordPress roles vs PrimusNote roles

The following table helps to see what WordPress roles correspond to the PrimusNote roles. Simply said: All permissions that are included in the PrimusNote role are also included in the WordPress role, but the inverse is not true.
